That could be a Quenox part, rebranded as Vello, by the New York City importer , and retailed by B&H Photo, the only source Google and Vello will find for my queries out of Germany. I traced Quenox to China a couple years ago, but am not finding them at the moment. I mention this in case both adapte...

Re: LED conversion - No turning back now - gutted Nikon TMS

I will take a look at that. It is has both constant voltage and current 10-turn pots; one comfortable with soldering could replace a 10-turn pot with a remote single turn control.... That might not be a bad idea as those small, PCB trimpots are typically rated for only a couple hundred rotations.

The CMT1412 I have is doing decently with a 25mm x 25mm x 15mm heatsink. I have left it on for a couple of hours as I'm testing to get stable temperatures, but this one hasn't been put into an instrument yet. Specs state 38v max, 34v typical; mine is running at 33.2v down to just above cutoff to ke...

Re: Adjusting light intensity, internal, remote or something else?

... I believe that chip/driver combo for the first design is pushing around 6w; the chip can handle more, but the driver is the limitation. I'm currently working on another one that's running at 33.2v and consuming just over 0.3amps, so just over 10w, but there's much work to be done on that one un...

+1. You can also refine a separate box after you get a chance to use it, and not worry about further wear and tear on the microscope. You may find a small, sloped console box to be to your liking. Here is one that houses something different and perhaps more complex, a remote shutter / USB switch, I ...

Re: Looking for LED Ring Illuminator

If you play some more with the LED ring light at high magnifications, you may discover it is more blue than you thought and introducing chromatic aberration . Another issue, not explicitly raised in that thread, is that you may find its strong blue peak is reducing both the resolution and contrast a...

An iris lets you dim the output, without lowering the brightness temperature of a halogen bulb, at the cost of shortening its life.

Re: Wild phototubes and their use with/ without eyepiece

Just a thought. The flange focal distance of the Canon EF-M mount is only 18mm vs. 19.25 for MFT. Could the less sharp images and (extra?) strong vignetting of the M200 indicate the 0.330-inch spacer places its image sensor some distance above a C-mount's usual image plane?

I can confirm the anti-shock option on the E-PL1, E-PL3, E-PL7 and E-PL8 all work with a stereo microscope acting as a somewhat slow, manually focused lens. The E-PL7 was the first to have focus peaking (from the E-M1) to help with that. The E-PL9 and E-PL10 manuals no longer mention anti-shock whic...
