Golenkinia radiata - Green Algae

The algae has a a gelatinous sheath around the cell body with many elongated spiny projections / "bristles", these do not thicken at the base, in contrast to "Acanthosphaera". Kind of DIY retrofit solution how to install an analysator in an Optovar is explained here: https://www.mikroskopie-forum.de/index.php?topic=8071.msg65959#msg65959 I also used an alternate solution where an analysator is permanently screwed into the existing threat just above the lower telan lense o...

Re: Asking the impossible …
Exactly, the seven digit numbers are series numbers, the 6 digits numbers are the order numbers. There was a time when Zeiss West (aka Carl Zeiss, Zeiss Winkel, Opton...not talking about Zeiss Jena) changes from series numbering to Order numbers. Good source for information is provided in link below...

Re: Question regarding 160mm vs Infinity Objectives
Some more thoughts from my side: A quality infinity system (from one of the big four) is certainly excellent for both, direct observation and photography...but it costs multiple times compared to a second hand finite system. In particular, the possibility of imaging the intermediate image directly o...

Hello Michael, nice scope. The camera is adapted with the "Grundkörper III" with f= 63 mm and a S- Kpl 10x eyepiece that - by moving this eyepiece up by 5 - 7 mm- will become a perfect projective 3.2x. This is quite a useful info and hint! Some years back I was also using the "Grundkörper" with a Ze...

Hi, maybe you can fit in some larger cover glasses? You will find cover glasses (0.17mm thick) also with larger dimensions, like 60 x 40 mm. I use a alu made frame as an carrier, so I use this large coverglasses just similiar to an convential object carrier. Some example photos are provided here: ht...
