Correction Collar : Leitz [surprise]

.
I was rather surprised to find this “admission” by Leitz, and would welcome comments from the wise:
… perhaps the original German expresses it a little differently [?]

I’m afraid this won’t help [or make you happy] : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/256205241887

Hopefully, in amongst that lot … you might just possibly find a blown fuse !

… if not, it could be a long investigation.

Thanks for heads-up, and the photos. To me, what you have shown with the green LED looks great to me... but disappointing for you. Because of this it is obvious that I don't know much about microscopy, and have lots to learn. . Fear Not !! We all have lot to learn … that’s one of the beauties of th...

Re: Dichromatic Illumination?

My solution to the above post is to drill a hole into the end and insert an optic fibre. Then light proof the whole thing, except for the end of the projected fibre. . I regret to say, you are likely to be disappointed … Fibre Optics have an ‘exit angle’ MichaelG. . Here are some reasonably self-ex...

Re: Dichromatic Illumination?

The subject gets a bit heavy, Gerry … but this is a good introduction:

The visual perception of a particular colour does not necessarily mean that colour’s actual wavelength is present.

… I plan to use aluminium foil to cover the light head; it may make a slightly brighter beam, as well as blocking the light leakage. An impressive start !! Ron Green’s brilliant paper is available here, in several formats: https://archive.org/details/APracticalG ... ollimation

I suggest you skim through it, for an appreciation of the problem, and then return the Amscope.

I suggest you ignore the Xenon lamp option, and concentrate on the rest of it.

They are expensive, short-lived, and hazardous.

I was not familiar with your Flashgun … but this appears to be it: https://uk.neewer.com/products/on-off-camera-flash-66600090 From what you write, it does seem that you simply need more light on the specimen … but before making a potentially expensive purchase, I would investigate the ‘metering’ as...
