Re: Mighty small ciliate

Thank you everyone for the quick response, will note it in my log book.

It was in with Diatoms I collected from Big Creek in Taney County, just
West of my home in Ozark county MO. So far the Diatoms range in size
from 240um down to 10 or less. Will post some photos once I sort
through them.

Mighty small ciliate

This critter is about 20um and moves quite fast, waited until most of water
evaporated to slow it down. 100x oil sorry for the poor quality,

My M200B is a very basic entry level scope without condenser, I be leave
that could be the main problem.

Re: 100x objective not much light

I have AmScope T340B-DK-Led with 3 watt LED, equivalent about 15 watt tungsten. It is Brightfield / Dry Darkfield, I've used the 100x objective both dry, oiled first time yesterday and find no problem with the view with the 100x objective. I do see what might be a slight problem with dark field unde...

Dark field works well with 4x objective, haven't had much luck getting things to work with
10x and 40x. Fun project though.

I've been machining PVC pipe as a holder
& drawing them on my CAD program for dark Field
when using my M200B.

Ceiling lighting and microphotography.

This might be common knowledge. Just a note on ceiling lighting from behind you while photographing or making videos with your scope. I have a trinocular scope with my laptop on my right side. While viewing the subject on the computer screen I noticed very dim off color circles on the bottom of the ...

Just a suggestion: One thing I learned years ago is Make sure the lighting is directly over your
work bench or work area. You want light shining directly down on your work project, not
behind you if possible.
