Re: First images with new camera

From reading your comment, I'm now thinking about getting a set of 4 Plans and the 20x and 60x Plans. I have several microscopes I can use them on. If I like them, maybe I'll get a second set. What I'm trying to find is the darkfield mask.

Re: Slide labels

I make a lot of slides and find it easiest to apply a temporary label to each, using UHU water soluble glue, and then print a whole bunch of labels using MS Word, I can get 7, 1" wide columns on a sheet. Print with Arial font @ 7pt. At last 12 labels/column. Each slide has a unique informative iden...

Hey Bob. I never thought about using LOCA. After reading your reply I went on Amazon and found several LOCA products. Will this brand work? https://www.amazon.com/Barcley-Adhesive-Transparent-Smartphone-Electronics/dp/B085Q3WCBT/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=liquid+optical+clear+adhesive&qid=16088374...

Re: ..and is this normal?

From what I can find on the Oxion 3025, and it's $1,990 price tag, it's far from being an entry level microscope. I would contact where you bought it from and see what they can do.

I tried it once. It doesn't always mount the specimen that well--it could leave it loose. It also destroys cell tissue. I bought some clear school glue but never used it. I stopped trying to mount permanent slides.
I'll remember that for most of what I mount.

Re: Clear nail polish

Hi Steve, mountants have to have a couple of properties, and nail polish has few of them. So while it is probably usable for a few types of objects it is not attractive as a general use mountant. I use a couple of different mountants and have several more, each has it's application. Do you have som...

Hey Greg, I do have some Balsam, but I've seen on some Facebook groups where people use clear nail polish and it works, at least for them. I even think Oliver did a video about clear nail polish. I was just wondering.
Thanks for your reply.

They're both good quality microscopes with the same power, so I would choose the one that works the best for your camera setup. Are you going to use a camera that you have or use a camera that you can get with the microscope? That's the question you need to answer, see what setups they have and choo...

For what the price is I would go with the OMANO OM159T. It has 5 objectives and it's worth more than the selling price.

What I do if I'm going to use oil is to lower the stage, turn the objectives to the 4x, add oil, then turn to the 100x. That way I know I'm safe with my objectives.
