i suspect my condenser has a problem.the diaphragm and the top lens are not in a line.1 and 2...

Alternatively; you could try the 'afocal' arrangement [with a standard lens on the camera], which is much closer to how the 'zoom eyepiece' was intended to be used. Edit: I find it very confusing that einman is getting good results, apparently with no additional optics ! ... What important point am I missing ??? maybe we need a additional optics,but the red block is our variable-lens right?,can we keep a long distance with the sensor? can we use a long adapter...
