Resolution is very clear! Did you try to decrease the number of images in the stack? Any visible improvement with such deep stacks for that subject? Just askimg because I normally have 5-6 images in a stack for those subjects. Perhaps I should try to increase the depth of mine and see if quality goe...

Re: Reasonable Expectations for Cleanliness of New Materials
John, if you want I can send you a box of VWR cover slips so you can check them out. No charge of course. I think I have 10 boxes and enough for a life time. I have indeed also seen tiny crystals on some of my slips which I assume are small glass particles left from the production. In practice they ...

Re: Vorticella from Baltic Sea - The Movie!
Very sharp and contrasty video! What NAs do your UplanSAPO 20x and 40x have? Is that 40x sensitive to water thickness between sample and cover slip? Thanks. Olympus UplanSAPO 20x - 0.75 Olympus UplanSAPO 40X - 0.90 Yes, they are somewhat sensitive, but not too bad. If the water gets too thick, I ge...

Found this one in a water sample. Really quick. Almost impossible to get a stack. This one is blurry because he moved between frames.

That is excellent. That blue background works very well with it. The retraction takes less than 6ms. Impossible to see without a high speed camera. Now that would be both a fun and an expensive toy! Yes, just checked out nice camera which takes up to 1800 frames/second in HD. https://www.phantomhig...

Re: Cleaning internal lenses and optics
Thanks Rodney. I do not plan to take the objectives apart. Mine are still clean, but trinoc heads and photo eyepieces sometimes needs cleaning. I used distilled water and dish wash and it seems to work ok. Very mild cleaning and no rubbing. I hope the coatings did not get hurt.

Re: Reasonable Expectations for Cleanliness of New Materials
I use VWR slides and slips. I have found these very clean, or at least I have not noticed any dirt, dust or fog. I never clean them before use. I always through away cover slips and use a new every time. I normally reuse the slides unless they are too sticky and time is short... https://www.dropbox....
