Was not sure what it was at first hence I left the name out, now think it might be Botryococcus
Apparently the yellow is oil, squeezed out by the cover slip pressure.

Think the yellow discoloration is due to the cover slip pressing down on it.
By the time I came across it the water had largely evaporated.

You do have the knack of finding beautiful patterns and then capturing them in excellent detail.

Would be interesting, but unfortunately I do not have anything over 0.65 dry.
