Squantinella
I found this nice Rotifer in my small garden pond. I am reasonably sure it's a Squantinella (genus), but I don't know which species it is. It is about 180 microns long, including its toes.

Re: Can anyone identify this fellow?
Here's a layout of cirri of hypotrichs. To see them it's usually necessary to defocus a little to either side of focus. I find that much easier to do with video then with photographs.

Re: Does anybody know what this is?
It looks like some kind of Hypotrichia, but there's not enough information in the pictures (for me) to decide. A video would be better I think, because it makes more features visible.

The first one looks like Urocentrum, but I have never seen one before, only pictures
The rotifer looks more like Colurella to me.

Bruce, I don't know what you mean by equatorial bristles, could you please explain? From about 1:02 to almost the end of the video I have zoomed in at the moving bristles. How would you name these bristles?

Halteria?
This ciliate is about 30 microns in diameter. I think it is a Halteria, but don't know which species it is.

Re: worm or ciliate?
It could be Stichotricha I think. I once found one that looks about similar, but often the details are more important then the overall looks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSmVq-sUhb4 .

Re: Coleps
Thank you Bruce. I have seen lots of Coleps before and I always saw the 'blocked' armour, even at low maginfications. Impossible to not seeing it. In this sample however, I found two, the one shown in the video and another one, in which I could not see the armour. I don't know why. I still have more...

Coleps
I think this is a Coleps species. It has, as far as I can see, three thorns on the back side and 3 or four longer cilii. The pattern seen by other Coleps' is only visible sometimes, close to the edge of the ciliate.

Re: Can someone confirm my ID's
To me the second one looks more like a ciliate then a rotifer. But if it is a ciliate, I don't know the genus/species.

Cephalodella catalina?
I found this nice rotifer in my small pond. I think it could be C. catalina, because its feet are at 90° from its body. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Re: Arcdella gibbosa?
Bruce,
I see pictures of many orientations of the Arcella species you discovered. Did you manipulate the same species for all these observations or did you find many indiciduals? In the last case: how to know that it is the same species every time?

Yes, I noticed that. I thought that maybe the 'breaking' of the last part of contact caused a kind of startle response.
