Wanted: Wild stereo M3 S-type focusing rack

Hi,

If anyone has one of these lying around, I am interested. This is the one that allows displacement of the objective so that it centers on the left light path.

Best regards,
Riku

Turns out that the file was indeed part of that set I purchased. So I can't put it up here. Sorry for getting hopes up :(

Good luck in expanding your equipment. Is your interest in the macrozoobenthos focused on any particular group?

Thanks! Not really, all the major groups living there are interesting. Well, Oligochaeta aren't all that interesting to me :-)

Re: Hello from Oregon

Hi, Always nice to see another "optically oriented" biologist, especially one who is into critters living in water :) I'm into macrozoobenthos myself, but will enjoy reading about and seeing pics of meiofauna. As a stream ecologist, I am well aware of how under studied meiofauna is. So many more peo...

Re: Chinese microscope manufacturers overview

Like in many spheres now, the only guarantee of overall quality is to buy a used product from a former era. Yes. This is exactly what I am doing. Even if it requires tedious work hunting down parts needed. As mentioned I also seriously dislike reverse engineering and the like - it is stealing intel...

Re: Wild M3 Coaxial Illuminator (Should be compatible with Leica M series) 50$

Yeah, their price is crazy, but I do have it lower here than it will be on eBay. I will buy this off your hands. I will use it on my M7S. Looks like it is compatible with it. I'm sorry, it actually sold earlier today (pending a question). If that falls through I'll send you a PM. That is a pity. I ...

Re: Wild Heerbrugg microscope price list from 1975

Ok, I'll verify that when I get back home. I am on a work trip now and those files plus a document with the company's name on it are there. I'll also ask the site owner here about the file size issue. I don't think there's any chance to squeeze them to 2MB, the quality would probably plummet to pret...

Re: Wild Heerbrugg microscope price list from 1975

I can't remember anymore if I downloaded this particular file from somewhere or if it was on a DVD that I bought about 9 years ago. The DVD had roughly 30 different Wild brochures, user manuals and even a few repair manuals on scopes, macroscopes, Wild photo systems etc. They had been scanned from p...

No, it's on my laptop. And links to internet locations tend to break when time passes. That's why I was asking if there's a place here for more permanent resources.

Wild Heerbrugg microscope price list from 1975

Hi,

I have the USA price list of Wild microscopes and their parts in 1975 that someone had scanned to pdf. Would that be of interest and is there a place here on the forum for such things?

Another strange Wild eyepiece

This one is a 15x K, 23mm barrell but at 73mm it is much longer than the other Wild 15x K eyepieces that I have (one of those is in the pics). It also very heavy, meaning a lot of glass inside.

Any idea what this one is?

Re: Mystery Wild eyepieces?

Possibly a centering telescope for phase work? Does the black part of the barrel rotate relative to the chrome barrel? If so, that would be the focus mechanism for a CT. If it doesn't turn there, you might drip a (very) tiny bit of solvent into the relieved area and let it sit, see if it loosens up...

Mystery Wild eyepieces?

As a part of a very large lot of optics, mainly eyepieces, I got a few like these. No markings, except for maker Wild. They are 23mm barrell, 59mm long and seem in focus on object farther away when you look through them. Closer objects are out of focus. Never seen these before :o

What are they?

Re: Looking for Leica Wild M10 user/service manual

It's a solid microscope! High quality. Thanks for your manual and brochure. I would recommend the Leica\Wild Heerbrugg phototubes: 404891 and 180570. I own both of these. The 404891 has better light transmittance in the photo mode. The 180570 loses 50% light transmittance in photo mode but the loss...

Hi Rorschach, welcome aboard! I'm sure your knowledge will be valuable for the forum. For stero microscopes DIY dark field solutions have been shown before. Re: Snowy greetings from Finland!

Hi again and welcome! So you don't use high power (compound) scopes for hobby? For low power (up to 20x NA 0.4) darkfield, you can simply put on a black colored background and shine your lights sideways towards subject. Hi again indeed! :) I do have a Beck & Kassel CBS binocular at home but I very ...

I am a middle-aged freshwater (mainly streams) ecologist with experience on macroinvertebrate identification and ecology. I'm in the exact same boat! I have a Wild M7S with the phototube HV but no other parts. Any information on the topic would be warmly welcomed here too. I have found many Wild relay/projection eyepieces but they have magnifications ranging from 6x to 15x. It is unclear to me which of these would work...
