Re: First attempt with Water Immersion
Top class. Interesting to see your water immersion.
I've often wondered why they aren't more common than oil lenses.
It may simply be tradition.
I get the resolution thing but the waters seem more practical
for most purposes.
Yours is working beautifully.

I agree with the sentiments about polarised light.
Given you can sort it out for a few dollars its pretty amazing.

Re: Crystalline structure - ID?
Welcome to the forum. I'm with mrsonchus. Does look like a crystal. Pretty tricky to ID most crystals. A) Lots of them look fairly similar. B) The same crystal can look very different. Like I said, tricky. Straight forward Sodium Chloride/Potassium Chloride tend to be more cubic. So perhaps more to ...

Very nice. Moss leaves are great subjects and this is very good (fairly amazingly good as its you first try).
On the stitching front Microsoft's Image Composition Editor is pretty amazingly good/easy and free.
Stitching does give you a whole extra dimension in composition.

I do. I just use various lamps/goose neck things to light my subjects. I'm not saying the...
