Ajmckay, as you can see you are getting a lot of advice from knowledgeable forum members. My final suggestion is keep it simple. Amscope with the plan objectives and then adding a darkfield condenser/filter later. I have an Amscope and am very happy with it. I upgraded to plan objs for the 4x, 10x, and 40x. I also added a 20x obj. for when 10x is not enough and 40x is too much and a 60x obj. because I don't like messing with...

I added a drop of dye methylene blue just to see what it gives.

Pat, super video. I often see several rotifers in a specific sample but never a "Herd" like this.
McConkey, these are all female, and you can often see the paired ovaries on either side of the gut.
Actinophrys, you certainly know what to look for.

I wonder what their metabolism is like and why these small creatures have to eat so much.
Probably because what they eat is so small :)

Nice images.I think that might be the intestine.

Nergiz dukan, I have an Amscope and have never had any regrets. My recommendation is start simple and then upgrade as you think about what else you want. For example, I upgraded some of the objectives with plan and added a 20X and 60X obj. If you are looking for a good economical scope to give you go...

All of the above. The first Ceratium is really great. That 60X WI is a treasure.
The camera I have now is quite good at freezing motion due to its high shutter speed and firing rate.
What camera and your technique please.
