Re: Japanese folding WWII Army microscope

I actually found two. I bought this one first, then found another one. The second one has the wooden case and is in great condition and I'm keeping it. From the serial numbers, my keeper version was probably made right after the war, while this one was made right in the middle of the Pacific War. I ...

Japanese folding WWII Army microscope

This a Japanese Tiyoda MKQ folding microscope used by the Imperial Japanese Army in WWII. It was brought back by a US soldier as a souvenir during the American Occupation of Japan. The mirror is not original, but everything else seems intact. It probably hasn't been cleaned since 1945, but I did lub...

Old Bausch and Lomb brass scope. I haven't used it. It's been sitting on my shelf for years. Includes 3 oculars and 3 objectives, and whatever other little bits you can see in the photo. Serial number 19389. This has not been cleaned... Probably from around 1900 or so. Includes the wooden case, but ...

Re: Hi from Washington state

Good luck with the Nikon. You should be able to do fine with that. I hope you are making some progress. Up in Washington, you should be able to find many interesting microscopic things to look at. If you like A&P, you can find many interesting prepared tissue specimens, many are from mice or rats, b...

B&L Stereo microscope-selling

I received this B&L Stereomicroscope. I don't know much about this model. I picked this up in a trade. Seems to work well, and the illuminator is functional. The paint is a little scuffed up- but still a great microscope. There is a brand new plexiglass plate for it. It's about 1 mm too big, can eas...
