Wow! This is well done.

Thanks. The microscope worked for years. Then I I had a stroke and seemed to have a problem with everything including my body. Since I have been peeling away the non-essential. That may include the digital microscopes. I am gonna try once more to get it working.

My impression is that the process of eating among rotifers is rather casual. One second the little circle is outside the rotifer's body and the next second it is inside. Not very exciting.

In the early spring, these unique flowers begin to take over the lawn with the bright yellow. Actually these plants are organizational/ mechanical/ structural wonders and beautiful to witness.

I am having trouble using Hayear microscope software for videos. It works very well for still images, but I can't get the videos to work. Can you help me? I think it's a simple problem I just can't get.

The lawn is covered with these un-appreciated plants. When I actually look at them, the very natural engineering is amazing. The pictures were made with the shortest objective and two of the longer objective lenses.

I sliced a piece of stem from a common houseplant. I was surprised to find the variety of shapes and contours in one small piece of plant tissue. These pictures are simple and direct views of the cells without stain.

The rotifers have gathered around an apparent colony of passive organisms in a dense biofilm. This mass of organic matter has been feeding rotifers for a while.

My mudpuddle has bred a population of hungry micro-animals. My experience is that eventually numbers will begin to decline and I will begin making some sense of it.

I have a typical digital microscope. It used to be plug and play. However, I have had to change drivers for my compound microscope software and the digital microscope no longer works. I unplug the compound microscope camera, plug in the digital microscope camera but I can't get any software to work....

This is a pretty wild plant growing in the lawn. The surface texture is exceptionally deep and rich-looking.

This biome has been some time in development. At the first sign of Spring I added water from a small puddle (we have no large bodies of water close by). I always get a lot of rotifers feeding on small organic matter. By now they are massing and forming a thick biofilm.

These plant-like organisms grow on top of the soil in the early spring, apparently parasitic.

It's now early Spring. This rubbery leaf plant is one of the first to show clear signs of health (although it may have been so all winter). The bottom cells are masked under a cover. The top cells are irregular shaped and close to the surface.
