Re: Zeiss Standard 14

I didn't know that, thanks for the clarification Hobbyst ! I have one question. When looking through the x40 objective, the subject seems blurry, at any focus point given. As I received my isopropanol and the dust blower, I could clean my eyepieces, objectives and condenser correctly. However, the b...

Re: Zeiss Standard 14

Hi everyone, On my Zeiss condenser (46 52 70), I noticed there were 3 big lenses, which I think are slots for rings, such as D-stop etc. Ideally, I'd like to purchase some filters to see the differences between them. https://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2019/11/4/1552597266-capture-d-ecran-2019-03-1...

Thanks both.

In this video, Maintenance is showed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jM2lVHa ... x=4&t=337s

It looks about right for me. Yet, he didn't show the cleaning of the objectives. Is it the same process ?

Indeed, it looks like Licmophora sp. After some research, it could be Licmophora flabellata.

Thank you 75RR. What are the numbers "100/100, "80/20" ?

Fun fact: I actually saw this trinocular head, but couldn't buy it (I mentioned why in a previous thread if you remember). I am very sad aha !

Zeiss head conversion

Hi everyone,

Soon, I'd like to change my binocular head from my Zeiss Standard 14, to a trinocular one. There are a bunch on eBay. How do you know some kinds are suitable for my microscope, and some others aren't ?

Thanks 75RR ! I just come back from the shore. So far, I'm able to see much more diatoms. The main algae I wanted to pick up is Ulva lactuca. I also came across some Cystoseira sp. (compressa ?). (Jar: https://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/20 ... 184023.jpg).

Re: Thalassionema sp. ?

Great picture 75RR, Diatoms are lovely subjects, especially with a mastered DIC technique. How do you collect your samples ? Most of the time, your pictures are taken from sea's samples, I'm curious about your procedure.

I can't say I'm not struggling on this one... I don't know if what I see is the filament or something else. As you will see, the image is repeated quite a few times, compared to your's on the slide.
