Re: When a flower wears a mask.
Would be interested to hear an alternative theory ... Im afraid there isn't anything else I can think of. I have my camera setup ALOT close to the scope that it should be. I took the phototube apart and removed a long section which brought the camera as close to the scope as possible. It gave me a ...

Re: When a flower wears a mask.
It's a combination of my camera sensor size/phototube size. Even with the plans the small size of the hole in the Trinoc head isn't enough to cover the entire sensor of the camera so it causes coma. At least that's what I'm thinking. It's eliminated when I image via the eyepieces due to eyepieces be...

I must admit i really do like seeing the bigger images! If you can get a bigger image posted and doesn't take up the websites server space, i'd say you've won! Nice images as always!

When a flower wears a mask.
Last month i was exceptionally pleased to become a member of the "mrsonchus super slide owners club". Unfortunately i've been so damn busy i hadn't had the time to image any of his slides. Viewing them is an absolute pleasure. Going from water samples to something that is solid, constant and doesn't...

rabitt - No problem! Hopfully it helped! How has the PVC been working for you? Bill - Thanks! This was my first real time capturing depth like that. I usually try to avoid areas with that much debris but it was the perfect testing ground for the mask. If you have some i highly recommend playing with...

Another quick test. Alot more debris that i would have liked but i wanted to try the mask in an area that was "busy". Still liking the results!
There was a vorticella to the left who was fairly active so he got a bit squiggly during the stack.

Thanks 75! Jim: I'm trying different combinations of color, size and shape for the mask. Lots of experimenting! Its all very interesting!! Quick test. Van Egmond
I've been playing around with Van Egmond mask's that Rod had provided here
It's amazing to see how big of a difference this little mask can make. Still working on getting it working for all objectives but for the 10x and 20x the results are very nice.

Re: Camera Vs Eyepiece
I know someone who has just about perfect results between the eyepiece and the camera with the way they work it, I'm going to ask them for some pointers. Camera Vs Eyepiece
Hello All! Just a quick observation i've noticed and wanted to see if anyone has the same problem or if i'm just out to lunch! The quality of what i'm viewing decreases when i'm viewing it via my camera compared to when i'm viewing through the eyepieces. Eyepieces are crisp, sharp and very detailed....

Re: Mask Carrier for Scopes Without
Thanks Rod! The smaller version i made works perfectly for a 10x objective. I'm making the mask smaller and smaller and try and match it with the 20x, 40x and 100x objective to see if i can get the same results i'm getting with the 10x. It really is incredible how much of a difference this little fi...

Work has kept me away from home the last few weeks so once again i'm falling behind on my microscopy!
