As usual...no idea what it is!

I take great shame in essentially knowing absolutely nothing of the things i find when i'm slide surfing! Sometimes it turns out to be something interesting...other times not so much! For your viewing pleasure i give you....something! Still working on post processing and stacking to figure out what ...

Really happy to hear its not from a live blood sample!! Thanks for the supplier info! Always good to know where slides are available from! Took a look at the anthrax image you reference! Really amazing stuff! You wouldn't know that these were your first oil immersed 100x images! Great work!

Re: African sleeping sickness

Incredible to think something so small can be so destructive! Thanks for sharing! I've never seen pathogens imaged before so for me this is really neat. Is this from a permanent mounted slide or a live sample? I really like how much detail you've capture in these little guys! They appear to be spott...

Thanks for the explanation Kurt! I had a feeling it used the cross-eye method! Unfortunately that's something i've never been able to do, even Mr. Krebs images didn't work for me...same with those "magic eye" images! My brain has just never been able to process them i guess? Maybe i'll make a steros...

aha i was just joking about growing them! I didn't know that was a thing! I will have to look that up and see what conditions they need to thrive! I'm sure if you ask them nicely to open wide and stand still you'll be able to get a good look at the mouth for an I.D! Without overwhelming you too much...

Another set of great images!! Are you finding these guys in every sample you drop on your slides?? Are you growing them?? I’ve only been so lucky once to find a moss sample that was full of them! Your getting some great details, especially with the fine claws! Have you thought about stacking?? The c...

Super cool image!! I've never had the pleasure of viewing eggs before! Its crazy to think that one egg looks to take up maybe 1/4 of the total body size! Do you know how long it takes for them to hatch? Hopfully you managed to witness them coming to life! Really cool image! I didn't know anything ab...
