Why not try the 1X planapo that they use one the BS- 3090. It's a Nikon clone. The last price I saw on that was in the 300.00's but that was back when I bought mine.

Does anyone have experience with Nikon plan 1x objective on a leica m50/m60/m80 body? I believe, the thread size is an m60, although very open to being corrected.

The reason I have multiple copies relates to a house fire I had some years ago. Insurance paid to replace all of my books although some were recoverable.

"Fresh Water Biology" by Ward and Whipple is a beautiful book. I had the opportunity to pick up 2 copies a few years ago. I also like "Freshwater Invertebrates" by Pennak.

Perhaps an artifact of the leaf itself.

The Nikon SMZ-U is a fine stereoscope. I have used mine a good deal. You will enjoy it for years to come,

Very Nice! As you mentioned if they serve "your" purpose than that is all you need! One of my favorite stereoscopes is a B&L Stereozoom 7. It has incredibly good optics with an na of 0.1, equal to superior to more modern scopes. What is important is that you are enjoying the hobby!

Yes, well it is ahead of schedule because I have yet to leave for Costa Rica. We had a death in the family which required our attention. Hopefully we will be leaving in the next week or so.
