Buy the trinocular for a few extra dollars it's well worth the investment. Saves all the hassle of mounting and unmounting the camera.

Six legged insect, still trying to find out what it is. This time used the Bresser scope with the 10x objective and stacked with Photo Shop. The insect was much too small to get a decent image on the stereo with the 4x. As usual click on the image twice to get it full size. :P https://i.postimg.cc/n...

Just calibrated Micam for my Optica stereo scope. The last image was not calibrated so the measurement are twice what they should be. I have found some images on the net which look like this next image, however no description of what it is, maybe someone can help. https://i.postimg.cc/gj5P5NZH/2021-...

Never had a problem as the battery runs out before it can do any damage I suppose. Never got round to buying a mains adaptor.

I am sure there are lots of low price 'carry on' suitcases on the internet that would be the right size to fit your scope. Steve's example seems to be very similar.

Hi Horsflesh and Louise, take no notice of apochronaut he is an ex technician who seems to think that:- 1. It has to have been made by one of the top 3 microscope manufacturers otherwise it's rubbish, even if his perfect scope has been used and abused for the last 60 years. 2. You need to spend most...

Re: How to take measurements of things under the microscope?

Micam 2.4 has a system for setting up measurements for each objective by taking images of a stage micrometer with each objective then calibrating the image. Once setup, using Micam to take measurements is simply a matter of picking which objective was used to take the image. https://i.postimg.cc/FHq...

Make sure you don't stack images from below the halfway point of the subject and that you have the correct order of images, either from the top down or bottom up (middle) (depending on which order you took the images) in the settings.

As far as I can see there are no Bresser dealers in Australia. Also dark-field microscopy is not a difficult or expensive technique, just the addition of dark-field stops under the condenser. The stops can be made by hand with a felt tip pen and some clear plastic. Better of course with the ad...
