Stereo Microscope for sale

Here is a stereo microscope project that I have been holding onto for quite a while. I have too many other projects so I'm going to let this one go. It's an unnamed brand of Microscope, but appears to be of rather high quality. I am guessing that it is from a Japanese manufacturer. It is from a medi...

Re: Can someone recommend please a microscope that can view deep inside skin ,at least 2 c"m deep please.

OK, I found another article about looking deep into intact skin with a microscope. This reference is a little more modern. "Multiphoton Microscopy in Neuroscience" Helmchen F, Wang SSH, & Denk W. in Fujimoto JG & Farkas DL; Biomedical Optical Imaging Oxford University Press (2009). Looks pretty intr...

Re: Are old microscopes sold in Japan?

Thanks for finding this. That's close! I have two of those already. They are pretty nice and fairly compact. I am looking for the pocket version. It's even smaller when it's folded up. It transforms into a nearly full size microscope. I haven't found one yet. It's called the MKH http://www.microscop...

Re: Are old microscopes sold in Japan?

Where in Japan will your friend be? I've looked around when I've been there. There are some small shops in Akihabara that have some used microscopes. I don't remember seeing anything unusual or valuable. Mostly some of the more common Tiyoda microscopes from the 1950's. I am guessing that the high e...

Welcome to the Forum!
I was out in Astoria, OR for a few years. There was a store in Portland that sold scientific surplus items. I would stop in on every trip into town to see what they had.
Good luck with the microscope.

Re: Zeiss Standard

Objectives for the Zeiss Standard series are pretty easy. You can look for objectives labelled "Zeiss". The look for a "160" on them. 160 is the tube length for that series of microscope. Later objectives will have an infinity symbol; don't get those. The thread pitch is usually RMS- that's the most...

Re: Zeiss Axiomat objectives

According to legend, only 800 Axiomat microscopes were ever produced. Too big, heavy, expensive so they were discontinued, despite the fact that Zeiss spent a fortune developing them. It was supposed to be the ideal modular microscope, replacing the Universal/Photomicroscope line. I think Zeiss neve...

Zeiss Axiomat objectives

OK, I am hunting objectives for a Zeiss Axiomat. They have an unusual 28mm thread. How do I identify them on Ebay? It's hard to tell the thread diameter from photos. Is there some identifying mark that will let me know that it's for an Axiomat? or do I have to ask the seller to measure the diameter ...

Re: First microscope

Enzo, I agree with he previous comments. This is a nice microscope. I have used many like this. The modular Zeiss system allows you to used accessories and upgraded features. There is a good supply of parts, and many parts from newer microscopes will work just fine on this. It is easy to add a trino...

Natural almond tree roots would get nematodes, but the peach tree roots were resistant to nematodes. I always though...

In addition, Here's a good video from this website that gives some background regarding bacterial identification with a microscope.
