Re: Permanent Mounting Trials
Hobbyst46 Yes I had seen some posts that said air bubbles could be a problem, but I think I got away fairly light on these two tries, only one small air bubble, of course there could be more forming. I will have a good look tomorrow again to see what's happening. I just read about Fructose today wil...

Good thing is the image display's on the forum page just like when you post direct on the forum see here:-
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7838
so you don't have to go off site to see it and you don't use up your forum allowance.
Storage is unlimited and free.

Re: Permanent Mounting Trials
Next test will be with Glass Bond (UHU Glass), forget where on the internet I saw that being used. A much more expensive solution than Euparal or Nail Varnish, but much easier to get hold of (local DIY), but more difficult to get off your fingers. No postage, no waiting, no using card over the inter...

Here we go. Mounted in nail polish no prior treatment.
Seems to have lost a bit of Chlorophyll. !! Will see how it develops over the next few days.
Now going to get the alcohol sample and make a section in the same way.

Re: Permanent Mounting Trials
Hi John. I noticed that, maybe the section got tipped and then I squashed it with the coverglass. Having said that it was a very thin section even though I did it with a regular razor blade so I don't see how it could 'tip'. Anyway I will cut them and mount them the same way. ;) Part 2 has been prep...

Permanent Mounting Trials
My next project is to look at some of the DIY permanent mounting solutions I have found on the internet. The first is with Nail Polish which I bought a bottle of a couple of weeks ago. https://i.postimg.cc/1XpyrrJL/Nail-Varnish.jpg Sorry about the advertising but if it works you will want to know wh...

Re: Test link to Google Photos
Hi Bob, I can see the issue and very old posts are unlikely to cause a problem for most members even the ones that posted the images in the first place. The posts of my pollen pictures will in a few months be forgotten so if they disappear from the forum it will be no great loss. I think that if we ...

Re: Test link to Google Photos
The image restrictions imposed by Oliver on microbehunter don't seem to bother most posters, if you look at the locations of their images, most seem to be stored on this server. I was concerned as I was posting lots of images, which prompted me to do a little research on how to locate them somewhere...

Re: Test link to Google Photos
I just logged out of google photos on my iPad and now I can’t see the third image. So the question is why can we see the first two images from photos and not the last? Both visible images point to google photos. I wonder if it has something to do with the length of time they have been uploaded to ph...

Re: Test link to Google Photos
So why can we see the first two images and not the last one.
As far as I can see they all have the same format and yet the first two show up but the last one not.
Hmmmmm. I will go paint a door (literally) and think about it.

it would seem that if the link doesn’t have the address beginning with IH3 it will not work. I will now log out with all my devices and turn off my wifi on the iPad while I go make some lunch. Hi MichaelG. I have posted an image in the sandbox area taken with my iPad just now. It would be great if you could check to see if it is visible to you. Cleared data in apple tablet browser.
Logged in to microbehunter forum. (With my iPad)
Opened sandbox and I can still see the last post. Will now try linking a new image to microbe hunter from google photos in the way I did previously.

Re: Free Unlimited Online Image Storage For Your Posts Here
There would seem to be a problem with sharing images on Google Photos when the owner of the photos is not logged in to Google. Google drive works fine but of course there is a restriction on the amount of storage available on Google drive, the whole reason for this post. (15 Gbyte). There are some w...

Re: Pollen. There's lots of it about.
The story goes on. It seems that when I am logged on to my google account everyone can see the images. However when I am not logged on to google people don't have access to my shared images in google photos only google drive, so I need to do a little bit more research into it. In the meantime I will...

Re: Pollen. There's lots of it about.
Hi John many thanks for your encouragement and I am glad you enjoyed the series. I will of course keep looking at pollen and it's interesting to see the uses these 'wild' plants were put to in the past. It's also quite amazing to see how they have been inadvertently spread throughout the world by bo...

Finally the Horse Mint pollen. This will be the last pollen image unless I find something unusual as they are starting to look very similar apart maybe for the sizes and the old descriptions from biologists from yesteryear. Hope you enjoyed them. https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1uL36lE6EFhZ4BI22F3u2A...
