My Zeiss Industrial
[/attachment] dimetrodon.pdf Here is my Zeiss Industrial Metallurgical Microscope. Incident light with LED light source and polarizer. The stand is from the Stereomicroscope which matches perfectly. The microscope itself is just a tubus without lenses. The telan lens sits in the incident illuminator...

Re: New Microscope
What I have figured out so far... The micrometer is a fine focus. Seems to be for measuring specimen thickness. The lever on the base is to lock the table rotation. There are no optics in the body; it's just a tube. The f-model stand is the same as the Tessovar and Stereomicroscope stands from the 6...

New Microscope
IMG_0378.JPG IMG_0376.JPG IMG_0377.JPG I just bought a new microscope on eBay. The label says Zeiss 1.6x. It fits the regular binocular, but I don't know how to attach the objective holder on the lower end. I found a photo on google of a similar scope with an epi-illuminator attachment. I just have...

More objective questions
IMG_0367.JPG Still trying to figure out my objectives. I think I'm getting closer! Here's one I just can't figure out... I have 2 Zeiss Plan 2.5 objectives. The first one is straightforward. it says "Plan 2,5/0.08" The second one is more complicated. It has a larger lens. It says "Plan 2,5/0.08" on...

objectives
OK, I have ended up with a bunch of different Zeiss objectives; all seem to be different styles. Some are all black, but some are half-black and silver. One is all silver with an "F". I'm not sure how to decipher the differences between these different series. Help appreciated!

Re: Zeiss Universal Questions
OK, I have the same microscope-- I just went to take a look. The "arm" in the binocular is not supposed to hang down. The side edge of it is barely visible in my scope. I don't want to take mine apart, but it appears one end has come loose on yours. The push-pull rod is not supposed to be bent. I ho...

Re: Zeiss photo support base
OK, Thanks. I think I get it. Loose connection without a rigid connection between the camera and the microscope. Now that I know what it is, I think I've seen it. It looks like the end of a soup can attached to the end of trinocular tube. It faces up into the recess of the support and acts as a ligh...

Zeiss photo support base
ALL, I am trying to build the system shown in the photo. The picture is from the internet. I just received the support arm for the camera, but I can't figure out how it connects to the trinocular tube. The manual mentions a "light-tight sleeve". I don't have one, I don't know what it looks like. I d...

Re: New Epi-Fluorescence
Thank you both for the helpful advice. I have two filter cubes; I probably need to get them set up with appropriate excitation-emission ranges once I have the scope and illuminator working properly. It looks like this will be a long term project. The filters and blocks seem to be quite pricey, even ...

New Epi-Fluorescence
Hello all, I am setting up a Zeiss Standard for epifluorescence using a Zeiss Standard and a mercury vapor lamp. There is a Blue filter slider in the epic-illuminator. The filter block has a mirror-like excitation filter, a dichroic mirror, and an orange colored emission filter. The slider above the...

Another Zeiss Tessovar Question
I hope someone knows the answer to this... The Tessovar manual shows several blocks (they look like wooden blocks) that are color coded to uses as stages for photography. Each one has a different thickness to correspond to the the 4 different lenses on the Tessovar. Does anyone have the measurements...

Re: Zeiss Tessovar
Thank you all for the assistance. I have found the M42 adapter and tubes on eBay. Just need to go camera shopping now.
I need to add a vertical focus adjustment on the stand. I can focus with the microscope stage adjustment, but I would like the option to move the lens up and down also.

IMG_0194.JPG I'm working on a send for my Zeiss Tessovar lens system. As you can see, it's a work in progress. I'm trying to figure out how to connect a digital camera to it. The instructions show a Zeiss film camera, but I need to connect a modern digital SLR to it. There must be a special adapter...

Zeiss dovetails
I have several Zeiss microscopes. They came with a stripped out dovetail retaining pin. It's the little 5-part pin with a spring inside. They all look like someone wrenched on them with a pair of needle nose pliers. That's probably why the ended up getting sold on eBay. I don't know why they are alw...

Re: New user and beginner and zeiss microscope questions
Nice looking Zeiss! You can always add the trinocular tube later if you find you really need it. Might be a few hundred dollars to find a used one to fit the Zeiss.
