Re: Do you think that would work for a led conversion?
I have used variable voltage as I didn't know it won't workDoes it work with LED? I thought LEDs needed to be driven by current and not voltage.
However, the controllable range is very narrow. Is it more wide using variable current?

Re: where to buy biochemical consumables?
Using molecular biology methods you may e.g. modify viruses so it may be much more dangerous than HCl. Be sure you will be registered by the intelligence guysI guess because they do not sell highly dangerous things

Where do you buy these? It would be convenient to find a European supplier. My favorite solution by far is the BuckBlock from LedDynamics:

Would be nice, however I have to be satisfied with kondensaattori.I was wondering if you mysteriously stumbled upon a light storing condenser that equalizes light output
As you see, it is too late for me to hang around here and my head is not clear any more. So it's time to go to sleep.

Sorry, I was not thinking in EnglishOoo? Your condenser eliminates the flickering? That is mysterious.
Wikipedia:

There is anti-flicker function in the program, which I don't understand more deeply. However, my big condenser eliminates it mostly.Playing with shutter speed?

Re: Do you think that would work for a led conversion?
Have to add that the small led doesn't work well for low power objectives in my system. However, I don't care because as you know, I mostly use 40x and 100x objectives for yeast and bacteria work ... The problem may be also in my condenser (in this model you should unscrew the top lens to get low ap...

It works perfectly for eye. You can see sometimes a minor interference in camera, however you can eliminate this by the camera program.
My intention was restoration of the original transformer for led option simply because I like the style of the transformer and think it is really very cool.

direct measure of the aperture diameter in millimetres For what do you actually need that information? The scale telling the real aperture would be much more informative? Although I never use that either. Just turn it so that the image looks good :) What I find bizarre there is no mention about tha...

Re: Oblique illumination condenser LOMO ON 14. New toy!
However, on the condenser, the aperture ring goes from 30 to 6, 30 being the most open position. What does this correspond to? That question is still open. Some condenser aperture rings has marking around 6 to 30 and some e.g. 0.2 to 1.4, the latter corresponding the actual aperture. I have wondere...

Re: where to buy biochemical consumables?
I don't know how easy it is in Switzerland. However, my solution was to establish a company/trade name. I paid a register fee of around 75€. That's all and after that there has been no problem to order chemicals. The dispatching costs may be rather high though. I think the main reason is that non-re...

Re: Olympus objectives
I still wonder if it is really worth spending money of 500€ for an objective. For that money you will get a whole microscope with a set of objectives surely good enough. Trinocular is better of course and then you also need money for a good camera. So I would start purchasing a good stand and then a...

Or do you think you allready need a better microscope? I will tell you the following story. Around ten years ...

I agree that the grease used in Lomo may be acidic and corrosive. However, I wouldn't use ammonia or other strong agents although it might dissolve the copper salts it theory. The reason I have used WD 40 (CRC 56) is that it penetrates well and softens the grease after which the parts, according to ...
