Make your own Methyl cellulose 1.5%

#1 Post by charlie » Fri Nov 20, 2015 1:06 pm

Is there a reason not to make your own using bulk:

Making small batches should eliminate the need for a preservative, right?

Here are listed ingredients:

Water 7732-18-5 98.4% 231-791-2
Methylcellulose 9004-67-5 1.5% 200-578-6
Salicylic acid (as preservative) 69-72-7 0.1% 200-712-3

Why not. I would make my own small portions from big bulk.

Sorry, but when I saw the title I read it as Nitro cellulose.
It's been a long week.
