Air wick fragrance heaters from tesco: solution to easy paraffin embedding?

#1 Post by billben74 » Thu Jan 14, 2016 11:25 pm

Having posted a question on easy vacuum creation for processing I thought I'd I try to contribute by sharing a small discovery.
Air wick fragrance heaters are on sale at Tesco Uk for £6. Sorry non-uk readers although perhaps similar products are available elsewhere or online.
This little devices are designed to keep scented parrafin molten.
They are reasonably well built with ceramic base with on off heating element. The warming surface can be used directly with a jar of parrafin or you can use the cermic dish and put the parafint on this.
They also double as slide warmers although you might want to keep you eye on them as I did get some bubbles forming in fructose mounting medium as they got a little too hot (after an hour or so).
But I resting the slide above the the dish should on two small blocks solve this.
Anyway,
Hope this is helpful

Hey, they look very handy, they look as though a small pot of wax could be kept on one for sure. I'm going to have a quick look at them when we're shopping. Thanks for a good lead. :)
