Re: For the man that has everything..
Would be nicer if the slides were stored flat instead of on end.
Re: For the man that has everything..
Definitely agree. Vertical storage has ruined many a slide, some of which were heartbreaking losses.

Re: For the man that has everything..
I really do agree, as you know I almost exclusively use resinous 'hard' mounting-medium, but it's surprising to see movement of tiny 'bits' even after 2-3 weeks - they take a long time to harden completely it seems. I'm in the process of switching to a system of plastic trays (which of course store slides horizontally much like a map-cabinet) rather than the vertically orientated boxes, they they just don't look right stood on-end!

Here's what you do: Use a Sharpie to write "titles" of what's in the boxes down the edge facing out, and they'll look like books. Ah, much better!mrsonchus wrote:...vertically orientated boxes ... just don't look right stood on-end!

Re: For the man that has everything..
Hi Bill, I buy these plastic slide-trays that are stackable with slides in them without touching each other, and they cost about £3.75 each as I remember. The grey cardboard ones I make myself, they're perfect for moving or keeping-separate perhaps, small numbers of slides (I make them to hold 6) that I'm working on at the time. Also of course the plastic boxes are easily stood on-end of too.billbillt wrote:Hi John,
