petri dishes

#1 Post by cpsTN » Sat Sep 17, 2016 2:42 pm

Does anyone know where I can get a petri dish or two, or know of any similar household item that does a similar job? I know a thousand places where I can buy them but they always want you to buy 10 or 20 or 50 or whatever. I'm looking for only one or two. I've looked at the various types of Lids from like peanut butter and so forth at the house but they're all too thick.

Hi,

Since you were planning to use plastic jar lids, then plastic petri dishes should suffice.. here are some cheap ones on Ebay:

Hope this helps..

Hi, I use plastic ones (petri-dishes) identical to the ones recommended by Bill and they're perfect. Also, the little glass pots that candles come in are very useful, I use these as a sort of watch-glass.

I sent for those and they came all totally smashed to bits. One email and I got ten in perfect shape. It's hard
to believe they can make and ship ten for $2.21. I'm still looking for small square ones to use on an inverted scope.
