Mounters and their Slides

#1 Post by exmarine » Thu Dec 22, 2016 2:07 am

I have been going through my exhibition box to see if I have any slides by well known mounters, and yes I do have about 12 all told so I thought i'd show you a couple and mention what is written concerning the mountant.
First off is the book of reference; Microscopical Mounts and Mounters by Brian Bracegirdle.
The first one is a Fairy Fly by Ison. C.H. .
The second one is of a Scorpion fly by Norman J.T.

Needless to say I got the blessed photos messed up and one in twice
About the mounters F F by Ison Cecil H. Ison (1901-1970) was a specialist in Mymaridae (fairy flies) and made exquisite mounts of them between 1958 and 1964. Some of these occasionally surface and are now collectors items worth a considerable amount.[/colorN

Now Norman J.T. There is a full page written about this guy.
Norman (1814-1893) Normans mounts are always of the best quality and are keenly sought after by collectors

Hi Exmarine

Love this idea - thank you.

Is it possible that you attached the thumbnail version of your larger images? They are very small on the screen and very small in terms of data size.

Hope you can get it sorted as I would love to see them larger.

Thanks

Rod

Hi exmarine,

I probably was not clear, sorry.

Your images are showing as very small and low resolution. I was hoping you had larger ones you could share?

Glad you circled back and posted the larger images.

The detail on the antennae is very interesting, and complete fairy fly would be fun to explore.

Thanks for posting.
