A friend of mine has a couple of these, one unused. They used to be mentioned in several of the Zeiss instruction booklets for the microscopes, like the one I had for a PM II.

Shame on me for not having the faintest idea what is that kit, and what exactly is its purpose.

Me, too.

Perhaps one of our German-speakers can tell us what's on the labels.

Here I am:
Third and fourth bottle: "Mounting media.... to mount dehydrated Objects"

I haven't heard of it. Whether it was especially good when new? And 40-50 years later?

With mounting media there is always the question what they were made for: Quick, perhaps automated handling and short term longevity for the professional or what else?
