A few I didn't know I had

#1 Post by Radazz » Mon Oct 03, 2016 12:25 am

So my brother, the bestower of microscopes, calls and says he has a couple more microscopes he wants out of his house.

First, this beautiful little Bausch & Lomb table top projector microscope.

Next, an exquisite, but sadly incomplete black Zeiss inverted phase contrast microscope.
This one rounds out the accumulation into a collection.

And finally, the best! A Zeiss Axioscop!
I need to find a manual and see what I need to equip this to do DIC if at all possible.

Well, the inverted will probably not be restored, at least by me.
I have no use for an inverted, and always thought I wouldn't have one in the collection I couldn't use. But this one is just beautiful.

To answer your question, I generally use the Zeiss Standard for photography, but I use the M20 for pure selfish pleasure. ;)

Hoo boy! Don't think I'll be equipping this Axioscop for DIC. Way too spendy from this point.
Apparently, he has a fluorescent microscope with 2 arc lamps buried in the back bedroom, but he can't remember the make.
Don't know when I might see that one, but it should be a learning curve.

There is also an older inverted, haven't seen that one in a few years, and need to see it again before further comment.

As far as I know, that will be the end of the bunch, besides a couple more B&L sterio scope heads.

My cup runeth over is an understatement. Need to build some shelves
