Will you be bidding on this, Radazz? Looks like a corker! Well found that man.

Not this far out, I have to see how high it goes closer the end of the auction.
Probably can’t even afford to compete for it, but I can dream.

Looks like someone ground off all identifying marks. Stolen perhaps?

I spotted that last night, but I guess I posted the heads-up in the wrong subforum...

Here's the business description of the seller:

http://www.ebaystores.com/OCDepot

The scope may have been stolen, but I think there's also a possibility that it was turned over to OC Depot by an educational institution or business, and the previous owner may have had some kind of internal rule that property markings must be ground off before the item is disposed of.

The big question is: How can we get revenge for the Dremel work on this great old instrument? Take a vintage Dremel collectible, attach it to high voltage and make slides from the sparks?

The fact that someone took a Dremel to it in many places means the final bids might not go to astronomic heights.

The wealthy bidders who want a shiny example of a very rare scientific instrument for their collections might not be interested in this one.

At any rate, the real bids will be placed within the last 6 seconds of the auction by the bidding services like Esnipe.

More and more, I find the best strategy is to bid as much as I can pay for something at the last few seconds and maybe the bots won’t catch up.
If someone else wants it more, it does no good to get upset.

OK, the DDE went for $609.99. Did anybody here snag it?
