I was so disappointed in not getting that Gov auction of the batch of microscopes, so I got this to help me feel better.

This is a Swiss made Wild Heerbrugg M20 Epi and Phase microscope. Initially the original stage was damaged in shipping so with the refund I was able to get the phase condenser, phase objectives, lower lamp holder and a beautiful rotating stage. :)

Beautiful Swiss engineering which works like a nice Swiss watch.

I'm happy...for now!

A few additions to my Wild 20 to make it more complete. I was able to get another Wild 20 parts stand for some pieces I needed. A photo tube, a Pol rotating analyzer which slides into the Epi section, some additional objectives, 2X and 4X as well as additonal 10X and 20X with turret, a condenser thumbscrew and the large screw which goes in front of the light port. There is a multi-filter assembly which goes over the light port and screws in the stand, which I don't have...yet, so the screw is there to cover the hole. I still need to find a lower polarizer, another bulb assembly (so I can have both Epi and transmitted without having to switch out) and some Fluotar phase objectives would be nice...and the 6 objective turret would be real nice too. It is so nice to be able to rebuild a classic microscope into it's former glory!

Hi Charles,
That is a wonderful old Wild scope you have... Why are some of the objectives such a large diameter?.. I have never seen anything like that...

Thanks Bill,

The larger diameter objectives are for the epi lighting for specimens that are opaque. The light has to travel down through the objective, reflect off the sample and back through the objective to be viewed, so the larger diameter.
