Indulge me for second....but. Is there an adapter from the Reichert Ik fat barrel objectives onto an rms thread?
Like there is for M25

Sure, it will just add a little length. If you don't see one currently for sale rafcamera can make one for you.

Does it work? What happens to the image quality? I might try to use Olympus Neo objectives in RMS turret as I have both a couple of Neo objectives and an epi-illuminator for those objectives. However, I have Olympus FH stand with RMS turret. So this would be RMS male/M25 female adapter. It would extend even more compared to RMS female/M25male?Sure, it will just add a little length.

I have done this with a Bausch & Lomb flat field fluorite objective on a Balplan. M24 to RMS. The Reichert is M28. You will gain 5mm or so additional length but that is fairly easily compensated for. Here is an adapter. https://www.ebay.com/itm/143524840224?h ... SwSMRgG7Ff

The tiny bit of extra length won't matter at all on an infinity microscope. On a finite one it's probably no worse than other issues that have to be addressed from putting the objectives on a mismatched stand. The main issue is parfocality if you're mixing and matching.

Those 28mm Reichert epi and met objectives come in a broad array of types, including high magnification water immersion and the weird 250X .90. They are all parfocal and it is hard to see where one might use any of them except the low mag. fluorites etc. with coverslips. I can see where plasmid is going with this, utilizing the vertical fluorescence illuminator on a Diastar with those Reichert objectives. They would be well corrected with cat. # 145 eyepieces. Reichert U.S.A. did not produce any epi objectives for the series 400 to my knowledge, since they had an ample supply of Poly instruments tailor made for the job. So, it is a good project. There is lots of room under the nosepiece for them, even with a bit of extension. Less under the stage but then in that application , that space really isn't needed.
