One very easy way to add a mechanical stage to a sterio microscope.
The tall base for the B&L sterio heads lets me use a stage with drop controls.
A little off center, but doesn't effect this 20x fixed head's field of view.
Mirror underneath for lower lighting.
Excellent for slide making, and a much smaller footprint than that big National boom stand sterio microscope.

Re: Mechanical stage on a sterio microscope
That's a good idea. It certainly broadens the application of the stereo microscope.
Just a nit here, but the pod is a 2X. Having a selection of various strength eyepieces gives
you a lot of breadth for examining a wide range of specimens.
The B&L scope seems to work well with generic eyepieces in case that's what's available.

I drew my 20x referance from 2x times 10x

Re: Mechanical stage on a sterio microscope
That is correct. 2X pod, 10X eyepiece.

That's a very nice and clever adaption .
