Simple polarizer mount for older Zeiss field lens. Camera polarizer mounted in lid for specimen bottle.
Perhaps I’ll paint it black.
Analyzer under the head.

Hi Radazz, this is what I also use - the variable-ND-filter not only polarises when turned (in combination with an analyser of course) 'all in one', but makes a superb and infinitely variable ND filter for my 'scope (Orthoplan) that enables the lamp to be left on it's optimal level of nearly-full-on....

Alternative: I purchased a 1.25" SVBONY polarizer in an aluminum sleeve, from eBay, ~$12 (a pair, including shipping), it fits exactly within the old Zeiss aperture on top of the aperture glass plate. Admittedly, did not check the extinction when crossed at 90 deg.
BTW, it the polarizer, or any other filter, raised too much (namely: 1-2cm) above the aperture glass, dust on the filter is visible and spoils the image.
