Hi Saul,
What workflow are you using with such a set up? As in, do you zero at the lowest level and then motor away while video-ing, then use toupview to z-focus the resulting movie file?
I'm curious what people out there use for software/controllers and how they prevent crashing the objective.

I'm using WeMacro controller. Yes, focus at the lowest point (little bit more, in order to catch lowest focus point), setting as a start point in the controller, next - to the highest point (setting end point in the controller), step size is already preset, taking bunch of photos (not a video), next - stacking in Zerene or Photoshop. Same story with my DIY vertical or horizontal setups.
