The specimen in question-
Came from the "Mini Pond" as we kids called it back in the early 70's. It is a small extension pond of Strawbridge Lake ( a dammed man made portion of the North Branch of the Pennsauken Creek, formerly called Hooton's Creek, made as a WPA project in the Depression for a park) in Moorestown, NJ, USA
We used to catch frogs there and it was full of Golden Carp.
Microscope used- Oympus BHC with phase contrast. Segments 1 and 2 are phase contrast with Oylmpus PL 20 objective and phase setting at 20, then 3rd segment (clearest) is contrast turret set at 0 which is then a regular microscope.
What is it?

Re: What is this ?
Looks like a gastrotrich to me, but I unfortunately don't know much about them.
Re: What is this ?
That is a very cool micro animal called Gastrotrich. Maybe Lepidodermella squamata species... not sure though.
