Crawling ciliate
Crawling ciliate
This particular Ciliate has 3-4 long cilia that was using to crawl around against the cover slip.... Is it Euplotes elegans?

Re: Crawling ciliate
Fun video! The 9 frontoventral cirri are nicely recorded, but I think we still don't have enough information for a species-level identification. We don't know the size of the cells, and we don't see the macronucleus. We don't see dorsal ciliation and have no information about the silverline system (argyrome, a pattern exposed by silver staining), or the habitat. So, I would simply call it Euplotes sp. I should add that a few of the labels are somewhat inaccurate, and the premise--a supposed conflict between individuals--is rather fanciful! These cells are not fighting at all.
