Is it parasitic? Thankyou in advance

It looks inorganic, like a fiber of some sort. The color and the linear non segment structure leads me to believe so.

Could it be a piece of microplastic, I sometimes see this sort of ribbon in my pond water samples.

Thank you. I am pleased it's not parasitic. She eats mice and chicks and has access to water in a bowl that's in an uncovered aviary. If it is a micro plastic , could it be from the air/water?

Hi Linlivsey,
It is probably from the digestive system of a mouse which has been chewing a synthetic garment for nesting material.

I see them if I wipe a slide with my red cotton shirt.

Hi Placozoa,
It does not look like cotton to me, cotton tends to be a flattened twisted fiber.

Hi Peter,
Maybe they made the shirt out of something else because, like, who's going to know?, right?. I suppose I should kick the protists off the stage and have a look. :)

Edit: had a look. Thats exactly what it is. The shirt is labelled cotton, thats all I know.
