I'm trying to identify the types of cells in a transverse plant section (a petiole of Ligustrum). Is this correct?
Thank you!
Is this identification correct?
Re: Is this identification correct?
Hi, it's quite a bit too magnified to tell really. Need to see the whole section to be able to see surrounding tissues and to know what organ/tissue/part-of organ this is....
I'd guess that the epidermis is correct but the collenchyma could do with a little more detail - may be right though.
Any more images?

Re: Is this identification correct?
Here is an image under less magnification:
(the original image in this thread was taken from the very edge of the section taking up most of the frame, the edge that is facing the bottom of the picture frame)
Unfortunately these are the sharpest images I could get, my camera doesn't do better I need to invest in a new lens

Re: Is this identification correct?
Hi,
I have slightly editied your image with GIMP, now it shows a bit more detail. I also attatch a labeled section of ilex leaf stem that is fairly similar (excluding the insect bite here).

Looks good!
I think your images are pretty good, I wouldn't worry about your camera it looks good enough to me.
