Hi. I have captured this entire feeding process on video, but before I put together a final movie I'd like to ID the organisms involved.
Are the two Peritrichs Epistylis? They look similar to Epistylis that I found the other day in the same sample.
What are the long, slender ciliates that are eating the peritrich? I know the smaller organism on the top is a euglenoid, I'm referring to the three others in this short clip. Is it Amphileptus?
Thanks.
Id of these peritrichs, and the organisms eating them?

Great catch! The peritrich is Epistylis, and yes, the predator is a species of Amphileptus.
