I know it's an Euglena species, a highly metabolic specimen.
The fact that it has no fixed shape always makes identification difficult.
Maybe someone here has an idea what the name is ?

Thank you Bruce,
First I thought you are joking
I continue to find these Euglena species very difficult to identify. They have no fixed shape and the shape keeps changing. No special characteristics either.
Do you perhaps have a book or a web site where I can find them ?
Greetings,

Re: Unknown Euglena
A handy guide with color images, fairly up-to-date: Ciugulea, Ionel, and Richard E. Triemer. "A color atlas of photosynthetic euglenoids." (2010).
In German, difficult to find and taxonomically out of date...but very comprehensive: Huber-Pestalozzi, Gottfried. "Das Phytoplankton des SuBwassers. 4. Teil. Euglenophyceen." Die Binnengewasser (1955)
