Help, please

I assume these are egg pods, but I don't know any more. I found them in a small lake. Thanks

Great photos!.. I will hazard a guess.. Looks something like Paramecium to me, though I am probably wrong...

Hi Crusty,
They may be insect eggs. The yellow spheres may be fat globules, and the purple structures look to me like embryonic eyes, also the sides show segmentation. If you could give an indication of size that may help.
Keep them in a sample bottle and keep watching them, if they are eggs they should hatch soon.

Someone pointed me to midge eggs. I'm sure that I don't want them to hatch in my house. Thanks to all who responded.
