When I was a kid I never could find any amoeba to view under the microscope. Now that I am 50 years old I have started playing with a microscope again and, thanks to the miracle of internet I knew where to look, I found one crawling on the bottom of a neglected water filled sand box.
The focus is rather unsteady due to my lack of experience with filming through the microscope and due to the fact that I was trying to shift the focus between the amoeba and the algae that was swarming around it.
Does anyone care to guess about the name of this amoeba?

Re: My first amoeba ever
Hans2004, congratulations on your first amoeba. You didn't say how big it was but Paramoeba is a naked amoeba, inhibits sands, and eats algae.
