Yeast is EVERYWHERE! :) It's a big part of your native microbiome.

Is there an online article I can read about this?

THese came up in a quick search:

https://www.the-scientist.com/?articles ... Mycobiome/

https://www.popsci.com/how-human-gut-ba ... nted-foods

I wonder about the conclusion in the second article. Haven't looked at the primary source, but consumption of fermented foods predates human evolution. I'd think that this commensalism between bacteria and fungi in the gut would have existed for far longer than bread and beer.

Edit: A search for "mycobiome" will turn up more than you ever wanted to know. :)

Edit again: This one has a lot of the same information as the first article above, but it's written on more of a layperson's level: https://www.npr.org/sections/health-sho ... ith-fungus
