It came from the bog

#1 Post by Grahame » Thu Sep 20, 2018 9:35 am

Hi folks,
Another freshwater denizen I can't pin down.
Living in the detritus and silt on a freshwater pond.
There were a few in the sample.
Generally slow movers but some moved quite quick at times.
No signs of cilla.
No shape change.
The green things inside were constantly circling inside the "body"
20x objective.
Thanks

Possibly Paramecium bursaria
Zeiss Standard WL (somewhat fashion challenged) & Wild M8
Olympus E-P2 (Micro Four Thirds Camera)

Thanks a lot 75RR.
That's a really good match and is listed as indigenous in New Zealand.
:D
