Wild polarizer part ?

#1 Post by Milou » Wed Oct 18, 2023 4:33 pm

Hello
Anybody knows the use of this part?
I suppose it is a polarizer system as the bottom part could be turn around completely or moved aside
But I don't know how it is supposed to work and with which stereomicroscope?

But both parts seem to be delaminated.....

Weird. Looks like their swing-out 2x that would have fit the m5/m7.

This part fit on a 58 mm (diameter) objective, therefore not a M8.....

I've also a similar one, but with no "glass" on its side to fix on an objective!

It could also be place under the M420 objective to receive a polarizer filter.....
Better then holding it by hand :-)

58mm matches the diameter of my Wild M5 objective.

I have used this item (supposed to be a Wild M5 accessory) in order to make a support for circular pol. filter adapted for my Leica M420!

I could screw on it a new 43mm pol. filter for camera, once removing unusefull parts and making a new screw setting allowing to move the circular pol. filter.

So it's better then just holding filter by hand under the zoom :-)
