Nikon DS-5M microscope camera for sale. Old crap or a good start?

Local Nikon DS-5M for sale. 60USD. They're 10+ years I think? A quick google search turned up a result for a new price in 2004 of 5000 USD lol :)

As far as resolution goes, 5MP is plenty, but as you said, the driver could be a problem, no service, and at $500 you can buy modern generic camera based on Sony CCD, which will probably get you better imagery anyways. In addition to MP, these old chips don't have allot of dynamic range, which has been an issue with professional digital SLRs of that vintage.
