Nice equipment!
I have never had an opportunity to own sledge microtome. Leitz rotary I have seems to satisfy the very little need for sectioning I ever have. No tissue processor either. Plain old jars, but than again, I do very little histology.
Art of slide preparation is a dying one, especially for large sections. Most tasks are now automated. I remember having to make a slide of entire coronal section of lung in my histology class many many years ago. Now I don't think students even learn this.

Nice equipment! Oktagon reminds...somewhere on the internet..I'm thinking it was early 1990's...voluntary full body donation of man and a woman..to assemble an online full body atlas of human...right down to cellular level!

The project 'might be located' by searching online for the human body atlas project...I recall online at this website viewing an entire male corps being immersed into some sort of wax after whole body fixation.

I see where these slide microtomes can handel entire brains, kidneys, lungs etc. ! thanks for showing your equipment, Yvan.

What is the last item? Did you use the 'I don't know what it is....' as a search phrase at Ebay?

It's a tissue processor, brand/type Shandon 2LE.
These are used to automate the fixation/washing/dehydration/paraffin infiltration cycle.
It was advertised as what it was/is: a "tissue processor Autotechicon style".
As there were no takers for this kind of highly specialized lab equipment, and it was "local pickup only", I bought it for the opening bid, some 60 Euro.
These systems are still availlable, for example the Leica TP 1020, which can be yours in the basic version, for the friendly price of 32 000 Euro's + TVA. Of course those newer ones are far superior: they give the samples a nice massage and some classic music (choice between Mozart and Scarlatti) during the processing cycle.

Tissue processors can be bought very cheaply, but the only way it makes sense to have one is if you do allot of processing. Otherwise it is just a waste of stains, reagents and solvents. Basically is is a device which automatically moves your tissue sample between reagent cycles and maintains propper agitation and temperature. Once parafin embeding is complette thr tissue is mounted on the block and sectioned.
There are different pre-and post stains which are used depending on the type of microscopy which is being performed.
