Question about reticle size

#1 Post by clipi » Mon Nov 12, 2018 11:48 pm

Hello.
I hope that somebody can tell me what reitcle size (physical size of disc) can fit into the periplan 10x/18 (23mm) ocular
of most Leitz microscope?. Should it be 19mm or 20mm?
Thanks

Can you post a picture of the eyepiece? Leitz made a lot of different 10x periplans.

Is the proposed reticle mounted in a threaded cell, or do you asking about a reticle disk that is held in the eyepiece bore with a separate retaining ring?

I have a 518059 Periplan GF 10x/20/glasses-icon, which has a threaded bore with an I.D. of about 21.35 mm. A reticle glass disk of 20.95 mm will fit into it fine, presumably to be held in by a retaining ring. A 20 mm disk would be somewhat loose, so it, or a 19 mm disk, may have to be mounted in a threaded cell.
